Paul Weller

Newcastle City Hall

Easter Sunday, and the modfather is in town, for his second sold out night at Newcastle City Hall. The atmosphere is jubilant from the Newcastle revellers, their team had won earlier in the day, and now they're ready to celebrate with an icon within British music.

From The Jam, Style Council, and just Paul Weller, Paul has a back catalogue of songs which would make many jealous. Just how many hits to play must be a difficult choice for him and his band nowadays.

Paul manages the set with swagger and chat, kicking off the proceedings with White Sky. He has a selection of guitars which he changes between with ease, between songs, the set flowing and faultless. A piano sits to left of stage, ready for Paul, as he finished the Style Council classic "Have You Ever Had It Blue", he takes seat for "Stanley Road".

Through his 28 songs set, the audience swayed, danced, couples caressed. Paul Weller has it all, and after a two year delay didn't hold back giving it, leaving everyone fully fulled. He showed gratitude and appreciation to all throughout, thanking the audience many times for holding on to tickets, which i'm sure they're grateful they did.
